About Carmen Strankman
Ever since I got my first camera at ten years old I have been snapping away. I grew up on a farm on the Alberta / Saskatchewan border. I love the beauty that even the simplest things can hold. Broken down buildings, rolling hills, even old farm equipment have this certain charm that I love to capture. I also love early mornings and sunrises. I feel like I get to see the world as it's just waking up.
A number of years ago some of my immediate family moved to the mountains so I have the advantage of being immersed in the beauty that they hold as well.
I moved to Calgary in 2000. I enjoy it and it is here that I embraced people into my photography. I have done a number of family portrait sessions (mostly outdoor) and even a few weddings.
Taking pictures brings me so much joy. I love finding beauty and sharing it with the world.
"If I could catch a rainbow I would do it just for you and share with you its beauty on the days you're feeling blue."
